Mathematics and Theoretical Physics
The Research Centre for Mathematics and Theoretical Physics carries out internationally recognised research and advances current understanding across a wide spectrum of topics from pure mathematics to theoretical physics. One main theme of our research is the rich interaction of algebra, geometry, higher categorical structures and theoretical physics.
The Research Centre is part of the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics at the University of Hertfordshire and brings together researchers in the fields including:
- Strings, supergravity and geometry
- Scattering amplitudes in gauge theories
- Quantum groups and representation theory
- Classical and quantum integrable systems
- Semigroup theory
- Topological algebra
- General algebra and applications
