Safety Net Policy
To support you, we have put considerable measures in place through blended/online learning and changes to assessments to help all students. This will ensure that you are not disadvantaged in your studies, through no fault of your own, and everyone is treated fairly.
As part of this, we have reviewed and updated our Safety Net Policy which will be in place throughout the whole of the Academic Year 2020/21 to make sure you have the support you need during these unprecedented times.
Sometimes situations outside of your control can arise that make it difficult to focus on your exams and assessments. If this happens, you may wish to make the University aware of your situation so consideration can be given to support you. We have information on what to do on Ask Herts.
Academic English and Study Skills Development
The UK education system may be different from the one you are familiar with. Our experience has been that students may face challenges with some aspects of their studies, including writing assignments, presenting and referencing. Our workshops can help you overcome these challenges, improve your Academic English and Study Skills and make you more confident in your classes and when studying.
The workshops are offered online in the form of recordings. We also offer online drop-in sessions where you can access help with a particular assignment.
Information on the workshops, online sessions and drop-ins can be found on our events calendar and Ask Herts.
