The University of Hertfordshire invites outstanding early career researchers to apply for externally funded Fellowships to be hosted at the University.
The University of Hertfordshire is ambitious in the quality and impact of its research, jumping 21 places in the UK rankings for research excellence in the most recent national research assessment, REF 2021, with 78% of research ranked as world-leading or internationally excellent, and its research impact in the top 25% of all UK.
The University of Hertfordshire offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a new Wolfson Foundation-funded bio-detection centre. Research networking and collaboration at the university are supported by Themes, Centres, and Groups and Units. In addition to academic mentorship, researchers can take advantage of a suite of skills training and career development opportunities.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) | Future Leaders Fellowships UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships (Round 11): UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) are now inviting applications for Round 11 of their Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) Scheme. The FLF Scheme is a cross-council funding call that supports early career researchers, with outstanding potential, in tackling challenging research and in developing their careers. Due to the extremely competitive nature of these fellowships and a cap on the number of full stage applications that can be submitted per institution, the University is running a call for Expressions of Interest from both internal and external staff. Please email uhresearch@herts.ac.uk to request an Expression of Interest form, and note the deadline for these Expressions of Interest is 12:00 noon on 4th March 2026. All applicants will need to discuss their intent to apply and work with their chosen host School to submit their EOI. |
