Social Sciences, Humanities and Education
The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Education brings together a diverse and vibrant community. Our staff are active researchers, scholars and practitioners, delivering high quality and engaging teaching, generating outstanding publications and working closely with the heritage, education and culture industries.
Students who graduate from the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Education are encouraged throughout their studies to explore the application of their learning, and complete work experience. This allows them to leverage their excellent communication, networking and team working skills, and hone their ability to think creatively and critically so that they can conduct effective research and analysis.
Our strong links with nurseries, primary and secondary schools ensure that our courses reflect the social, political and technological changes happening in the world, and this helps to enhance our graduates career prospects.
We were ranked 11th for education in the Guardian University Guide 2022, and are one of the Department for Education’s top 10 teacher training providers in England, for employability.
