Your application

Application to the School of Creative Arts is normally by portfolio interview, with specific requirements for each course.

UK and EU-based undergraduate students should apply through UCAS, through links on each course page.

International students will find support on how to apply in our International web pages.

Postgraduate students can apply online, through the link on the course pages.

Applying for a research degree (PhD, DProf, DDes, DFA or Masters by research) is more complicated, see the process explained here.

Portfolio interviews

All courses in the School (except undergraduate music and film and television production courses) will ask to see a portfolio, showreel or music demonstration. If you are in the UK, you will be asked to attend an interview on campus: if you can’t do this, or are an international applicant, we will arrange to view your work online, and may need to speak to you on Skype.

If you have any questions about applying, or the application process, please contact the admissions tutor, Megan Knight on m.knight3@herts.ac.uk.

Taster days and open days

Open days will introduce you to the campus, the course and the university as a whole. Taster days are a great opportunity to experience a lecture, get creative during a workshop, meet the staff and socialise with other creative students.
