This professional development programme aims to improve teachers’ confidence, knowledge and practice in science, technology, engineering, computing and mathematics. Teachers will plan and teach integrated STEM projects to help pupils gain an understanding of engineering - including through ‘coding’, moving parts of models and applying mathematical, technology and scientific skills. Pupils will solve real and relevant problems linked to the key stage 2 national curriculum.
Each school taking part in the project is entitled to borrow a class box (16 sets of kit) of Crumble physical computing device, USB cable, battery pack, AA batteries, crocodile clips, LEDs, motors, wheels and sparkles.
Outcomes
This professional development will help teachers to:
- develop a clear intent for a broad, integrated cross-curricular STEM approach through designing a curriculum project
- implement the project using inspiring and effective strategies
- gather evidence of impact on children’s learning
- be part of a network providing support, advice and ideas.
How will you learn
This programme will be delivered through a combination of face to face and remotely delivered sessions.
