Our portfolio of creative and screen arts courses ranges from art therapy courses to summer camp courses that have been specifically adapted to be suitable for 8-17 years olds. School of Creative Arts

The School of Creative Arts offers a week-long summer camp for 8-12 and 13-17 year olds, featuring an engaging programme of activities in Art, Media and Design, led by practising artists or designers, with dedicated assistants for each group. Over five days, participants gain practical experience using real-world software or contemporary art and craft techniques, equipping them with valuable skills to support their educational journey.

Introduction to Art Therapy short courses (In person and on-line)

These short courses introduce the potential for art to be therapeutic through experiential learning. Students will be able to develop their personal creativity while gaining an understanding of Art Therapy as a growing profession in health care and educational contexts.

Arts Therapies and Wellbeing Foundation course

This 24-week course provides you with a comprehensive introduction into the practice of creative arts therapies. Throughout the course, you'll explore innovative approaches in the therapeutic use of the arts in a range of settings.

From healthcare to education, the course will help you discover the healing powers of creative expression.

You will complete 3 modules and gain 45 University credits at level 4 giving you an insight into a career pathway in the arts therapies.

Master of Arts

Art Therapy

The master’s in art therapy is a two-year full-time or four year part-time postgraduate training course which leads to registration with the Health & Care Professions Council. The course is delivered on campus and clinical placement in the health and care sector. The course is level 7 with 260 credits across 8 modules.

You’ll complete 96 days of supervised placement learning over your period of study to give you valuable experience in practicing art therapy in real-life settings. This experience will help guide you to become a mindful, relational and ethical art therapist.
