Displaced / Refugee Learners
We understand that the application process and settling in at university can be particularly challenging for Displaced / Refugee Learners* and want to provide support in making your time at university as stress free and successful as possible.
If you are a confirmed home fee, full-time, undergraduate student with Indefinite Leave to Remain, Refugee or Humanitarian Protection status you will have access to support from the Widening Access and Student Success team.
* Displaced / Refugee Learners are students who are either Refugee, seeking Asylum, or have another immigration status such as Limited Leave to Remain (LLR) or Discretionary Leave to Remain (DLR) due to being displaced from their country of origin. Students with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Refugee status or who are here under Humanitarian Protection are granted “home status” and are therefore eligible for home fees and student finance. Students who are seeking asylum, have DLR or LLR statuses are considered to have “overseas status” and therefore are not eligible for home fees or student finance.
