Our practice-led postgraduate programmes are for students who want to develop specialist artistic skills in at an advanced level. We aim to give students an understanding of cutting-edge practice, develop their creative potential, introduce them to research methodologies and give them the entrepreneurial skills they need to work successfully in their chosen field.
Our programmes equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to practice at an advanced level, foster creativity and enhance employment opportunities. We encourage conceptual experimentation and the development of originality in how students use materials, explore possibilities and realise the potential of their ideas.
Our position within the School of Creative Arts allows for interdisciplinary collaborations and cross-pollination across a wide range of art forms and technologies, enabling students to explore the key ideas that inform their creative discipline and challenge the boundaries of their practice.
Within easy reach of London, the School of Creative Arts offers generously sized studios, excellent technical facilities and teaching staff engaged in research of national and international standing. We provide a supportive and rigorous learning environment alongside a vibrant programme of visiting artists and industry professionals.
Postgraduate students also benefit from the School’s research culture, including the activities of the interdisciplinary Contemporary Arts Practice and Theorising Visual Art and Design groups. Students will be part of a thriving research community where they can be inspired, bounce ideas off like-minded people, deepen their understanding of the contemporary art world and issues affecting it, and develop their own creative identities further.
