Our accommodation guarantee

Starting university is easier when your living arrangements feel settled early on. Our accommodation guarantee offers eligible first‑year students a straightforward route to securing a place in on‑campus halls.

We guarantee a room in University of Hertfordshire on‑campus accommodation for eligible applicants who apply and accept their offer by the published deadlines, including those entering through Clearing (subject to personal needs). The guarantee applies to standard halls across College Lane and de Havilland.

2026 accommodation guarantee deadlines

If you apply through the UCAS main cycle, you'll need to:

* apply for accommodation by 13 August 2026
* accept your offer to study at Herts by 20 August 2026

If you apply through Clearing, you’ll need to:

Where demand is high, temporary accommodation may be offered until a permanent room becomes available. While specific room types cannot always be guaranteed, our teams will work with you to discuss suitable options and provide guidance where additional needs are identified.

The accommodation guarantee applies to standard University accommodation only. In exceptional circumstances, temporary accommodation may be provided while a permanent room becomes available, which could include accommodation off campus. If you have a disability, medical condition or other accommodation requirement, please contact us as early as possible. While we will do all we reasonably can to support your needs, we cannot guarantee that suitable accommodation will always be available as part of the accommodation guarantee.
