Life at Herts

Herts was Sarah’s preferred choice due to its convenient location. With the campus just a three-minute walk from her home, she could balance her studies with caring for her family who live nearby.

She chose to study MSc Project Management to validate nearly 30 years of experience working as an independent project consultant on several global initiatives.

Sarah enjoyed the degree. She learnt the importance of academic writing and how to research better, which together made her a better problem solver.

Her time at Herts was memorable, thanks to the diverse mix of students. This diversity provided her with a rich, global perspective, all within a single campus.

Enterprising Ambitions

The Flare Awards is a highly competitive ideas competition that provides Herts students and alumni with the support and training they need to bring their business ideas to life.

Sarah won the Impactful Entrepreneurship award at this year’s competition, receiving £3,000 and ongoing enterprise support to grow her business Well-You – a mental health support service created to help those who have struggled with their mental health return to their best.

Currently completing her LLM at the University of Hertfordshire, Sarah aims to enter politics one day. She hopes to address complex issues related to diversity and inclusion, she also hopes to complete a Professional Doctorate in Business Administration at Herts.

Sarah’s Advice

Sarah says, ‘Seek extra support and guidance from the tutors if need be and use the well-equipped library throughout your learning.’ She also recommends learning from your peers. ‘It is a privilege to study with people from different backgrounds and appreciate different viewpoints during class.'
