Moving into on-campus accommodation
Your moving-in process
Before you check into your accommodation
Book your arrival slot using the email instructions and check what is included in your room to prepare for your arrival. You can use our accommodation page and guide to living on campus for more information on this. It’s also a good idea to make sure your vaccinations, including MMR, meningitis, and flu, are up to date.
How to collect your room keys and move in
Collect your key from the accommodation helpdesk on your campus. Use postcode AL10 9BT for College Lane and AL10 9UZ for de Havilland. Bring your photo ID and arrivals pass on your phone to confirm your room details.
Parking
If you are moving to College Lane and have a car, you must buy a parking permit before arrival. At de Havilland, you can unload, but you cannot keep a car on campus. If you have a disability, park in a designated bay and display your blue badge clearly.
Inventory
Check the inventory list in your room as soon as you arrive. Complete it and return it following the instructions. Use it to report any issues with your room.
Support on arrival
During arrivals, helpdesk staff and resident assistants will be on campus to support you with check-in, directions, and questions about your accommodation. If you need help outside standard hours at de Havilland, Security will arrange for support. Once you’ve moved in, you’ll also have access to university support services, including wellbeing support and student services. Take part in welcome activities to get familiar with our campuses and meet other students.
