Payment Security and Compliance
- Always check that you are on a legitimate University website. Official University of Hertfordshire pages will begin with https://www.herts.ac.uk/.
- Be cautious of payment requests via social media or in person, especially if incentives or discounts are offered. Only use the University’s approved payment methods, which are safe and secure.
- Always pay your fees directly to the University using approved methods. Do not use third parties (individuals or companies). Payments from unverified sources may be returned following compliance checks.
- Never make payments using bank details provided by email or phone, as these may be fraudulent. Always use the University’s official payment channels.
- Payments are processed by Convera and Flywire, regulated financial institutions required to screen transactions for compliance. They may contact you for additional information before releasing funds to the University.
- If you receive a request for further payment information, carefully verify the sender and respond promptly. Failure to do so may result in your payment being returned.
- The University only issues refunds to the original payment source. Refunds to alternative bank details are not permitted, and the University is not liable for losses arising from third-party transfers.
