Careers and employability
Kick-start your future
Our courses don't just fire up your imagination, they help you develop the skills and experience you'll need to get the job you want after graduation.
The University has long-standing links with business, industry, public sector and professional organisations. We're driven to ensure you're the first choice for employers. So, whatever you want to do - or even if you're not quite sure yet - we'll help you on your way to a happy and fulfilling career.
The Careers and Employment Service is here to help University of Hertfordshire students and recent graduates* by offering guidance, advice and resources to support your job search.
Support for employers
The Careers and Employment Service works with employers to understand their recruitment needs and connect them with our talented students. If you are an employer and would like to find out more about our careers events, targeted advertising of job roles and recruitment activities that are tailored to your business please go to Recruit Our Students to find out more.
From economics to English literature, every one of our courses is designed to boost the skills employers are looking for. That's because each school works closely with experienced business people to plan its teaching programme. For example, all of our Hertfordshire Business School students study modules in employability and entrepreneurship. This helps our students stay one step ahead in the job market, and our business partners get the highly skilled graduates they are looking for.
We're based in Hatfield, which is 25 minutes by train from central London. This means our students have access to all the opportunities our capital city has to offer and is especially helpful for those choosing placement years - a fantastic way to increase your skill set and contacts.
The Careers and Employment office located in the Hutton Hub will have a brand-new look for September 2022. Work will begin on Monday 01 August 2022 until September 2022. During this time, the Careers and Employment Office will be closed.
All services will still be available including appointments with the Careers and Enterprise Advisers. Appointments can be over the phone, video or face-to-face in the Enterprise Hub on the de Havilland campus.
