Careers events and workshops
Throughout your time at Herts, events like our graduate and placements fair can connect you with employers offering full-time roles and year-long placements, while international career weeks focus on helping you find work here in the UK.
Our Assessment Centre Experience gives selected second-year students a realistic taste of what it’s like to pursue a new job, from interviews and group tasks to personalised feedback from assessors.
And because we know that a great network can often be the launchpad to an exciting career or getting your start-up business off the ground, we offer a range of events to help improve your networking skills. Our Career Development Consultants work closely with you to help identify your goals and career pathways. They provide one-to-one guidance and tools to help you build the skills and confidence you need. If face-to-face support isn’t for you, My Career Portal offers a digital doorway into your career pathway development, it’s packed full of resources to support your career, at every stage of your journey.
Once you know where you want to head, we’ll help you find opportunities to get you there. Our online portal lists hundreds of placements, internships, part-time roles, and graduate jobs each year. You’ll also discover volunteering and mentoring options to expand your experience. We have over 10,000 employer connections, including many of our alumni entrepreneurs, which helps open doors.
You can access personalised feedback on job applications and mock interviews to help you land the job you want. Whether for a job during your studies or after, we’re with you every step of the way.

Once you arrive, you can access additional support to navigate the UK job market and build your employability skills.
We have dedicated platforms, including Student Circus and GoinGlobal, to connect you to global opportunities for your career. You’ll find job listings worldwide, country specific career guides, and advice to explore professional pathways in the UK. Student Circus also features many employers who can potentially sponsor a working visa, which is ideal if you’re looking to work in the UK after graduation or during a placement.
