Patient experience and public involvement

Overview

A meeting around a table

The research stream on patient and public involvement is directly linked with Department of Health (DH) policy on involvement of the public in research and a core theme that runs throughout the CRIPACC programme areas that is concerned with the patient and user experience.

The work stream therefore both supports and complements the main programme areas.

The research team is led by Dr Patricia Wilson and consists of four researchers. Hosted within the stream is the CRIPACC Public Involvement in Research Group. This group is made up of members of the public and service users who provide a lay perspective on the research carried out within CRIPACC. The work of Professor Hilary Thomas is also nested within this research stream.

CRIPACC is an affiliate of the James Lind Organisation that is concerned with the effects of, and patients’ experiences of, treatment outcomes.
