Making the most of your applicant day

Speak to your tutor

They’ll be leading your learning, so use this chance to say hello, ask questions, and get a feel for their teaching style.

Talk to other applicants

They’re your future uni friends and flatmates! Everyone’s in the same boat so say hi, start chatting, and break the ice early on by joining your Unibuddy Community. You could even plan to meet up on the day.

Talk to current students

They’ve been through the process and are fully immersed in life at Herts. Ask about campus life, placements, societies, top tips, best spots to relax, and what a typical day really looks like.

Dive into your subject session

These are designed to give you a taste of what studying at Herts is really like. You'll take part in taster lectures, workshops, or practical activities – so dive in and get involved!

Explore campus and local area

Go beyond your subject sessions - check out the library, cafes, gym and green spaces too. Visit our Herts and Beyond page to see what’s nearby and explore where you’ll spend your time.

Prepare your questions

Think about the questions you want to ask - course content, career support or financial support. Bring a list so you don’t forget anything on the day!
