- Business and Social Impact:
BDRG members possess experience of researching both social and business environments that have been affected by Digital Transformation and Digitalisation. Members study different sectors and contexts, including business and digital transformation in healthcare, supply chain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), operations management, the circular economy and digital transformation. Topics such as Digital Transformation occurring due to the implementation of Online Social Networks in Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SME), Third Sector Organisations, Identifying strategies to develop and expand SME using Generative Artificial Intelligence, Manufacturing and Improving the supply of peanut bars to low income expectant mothers in a developing country are some of the key areas of research undertaken by members of the group. - Decision Making and Risk Management in the context of Digital Transformation:
The group emphasises research on decision-making, including decision-making under uncertainty, risk management, and maturity models, with applications across healthcare, SMEs, and third sector organisations. - Innovation and Digital Transformation:
A key theme of our group is the role of innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in digital transformation. Innovative technologies such as AI, including tablet devices, smartphones, Online Social Networks and Generative AI are affecting various sectors, including healthcare management, supply chain management, SME, Public Sector and Third Sector. Researchers have focused on these innovations with a particular emphasis on aligning these advancements in the context of Digital Transformation. Emphasis is on matters related with digital inclusion, digital divide and digital transformation. Examples of studies and projects are exploring and understanding the role of smartphones in obtaining digital inclusion for SMEs (small and medium enterprises) in London. - Responsible Innovation, Ethics and Social Responsibility:
Ethics, social responsibility, and social impact are impacting innovations and sectors, which are subsequently the central themes within the group’s research. This includes addressing issues such as ethics and responsible AI, social value, particularly in areas like healthcare management, Information Systems and human resources.
