Data, AI and Technology
Our research uses data, AI, and technology to answer key causal questions in public health and care. We are interested in data integration and data-intensive methods – with a strong emphasis on machine learning and wider AI systems – as well as in technological applications to health and care, such as robotics. We value and promote causality, data fairness, privacy, explainability and transparency, and generally trustworthy methods and systems.
We collaborate with colleagues across the University of Hertfordshire and with external partners across the health and care systems, including local authorities, the NHS, police forces, the private sector, charities, and other stakeholders.
