Pride events

Hertfordshire and London offer plenty of opportunities to connect with the wider LGBTQ+ community, from local celebrations to some of the UK’s biggest Pride events.

Hertfordshire Pride, held each summer in Cassiobury Park, Watford, is the county’s biggest LGBTQ+ celebration – and it’s easy to reach from Hatfield in around 40 minutes by bus or train. With live music, performances, community stalls and bold, joyful expression everywhere you look, it feels as much like a festival as a Pride event. It’s a chance to experience a vibrant, welcoming community close to campus – a reminder that you don’t need to head into London to feel part of something inclusive, visible and full of energy.

Pride in London is one of the UK’s largest LGBTQ+ events, bringing together thousands of people each year for a city-wide celebration of visibility, equality and community. Featuring a major parade through central London, live performances and cultural programming across the city, it's a vibrant celebration that students can easily access. It offers a powerful opportunity to experience one of the most significant LGBTQ+ events in the UK calendar, just a short journey from campus.
