We welcome applicants from around the world and often accept local country qualifications in line with the course entry requirements. If you have qualifications from Sri Lanka, we can review your eligibility for your programme of interest. Just send in copies of your academic transcripts and awards when you make your application. Alongside our UK team, we also have representatives in your country who can assist you with your application.

Regional qualifications and entry requirements

For the majority of our programmes, we typically accept the following qualifications from Sri Lanka:

FoundationOne Sri Lankan A level or 2 A/S levels, with 5 passes in Sri Lankan O levels, including maths and English.IELTS 4.5 with no less than 4.0 in any band.
Undergraduate (year 1)Sri Lankan A levels as per UH published tariff plus Sri Lankan O level maths.IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (some courses require higher).
Undergraduate (year 2/3)BTEC HND in related subject area with overall Merit profile – each application to be individually assessed.IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band (some courses require higher).
Pre-mastersCompletion of a Bachelor Special degree without adequate grades to enter a Masters directly (each application assessed individually).IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in any band.
Postgraduate taughtCompletion of a Bachelor Special degree with 55% or above in a related subject area.

Some courses require additional work experience/qualifications.
IELTS 6.0 or 6.5 (depends on course) with no less than 5.5 in any band (some courses require higher).
