About the course

This two-day course takes delegates from the basics of using a spreadsheet package through organising numerical and other data, using formulae and functions, absolute and relative references to producing tables, graphs and summary statistics.

This is a two-day course taking delegates from the basics of using a spreadsheet package such as Excel, through organising numerical and other data, using formulae and functions, absolute and relative references to producing tables, graphs and summary statistics.

The topics covered in the first day are using a spreadsheet to enter, edit and organise numerical and other data, worksheet shortcuts (e.g. AutoFill, copying and moving cells, inserting and deleting rows and columns, AutoSum), using formulae and functions, absolute and relative references. These topics will be demonstrated using Excel. This first day of the course can be taken on its own as our "Mastering Excel Basics" course.

The second day takes delegates beyond the basics of using a spreadsheet and is aimed at those who need to produce tables, graphs and summary statistics from data using a spreadsheet package. The topics covered are sorting and filtering, pivot tables, creating charts/graphs, summarising data. Again, these topics will be demonstrated using Excel.
