8~12 years olds - Music Video Summer Camp

About the course

Behind the music videos of Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar’, or Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ was a creative genius who put these together. Or maybe you’re a little too young to know that last one…

What will I study?

Learner hours: 25

This course will introduce you to the infinite possibilities (and endless creative fun) of producing a music video.

Write, star, direct, and film your own music video to a song of your choice. Then develop your creative thinking skills and design your very own album cover.

This course gives you the chance to work with state-of-the-art equipment, and our team of film experts and tutors, working in our professional studios.  Learn how the process of creative thinking and ideas generation, story development, and editing techniques are used in the film industries. This includes introductory training in software skills using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro software.

Enjoy a fun, fast-paced, hands-on experience in the reality of music video production and leave with a digital copy of your video. There will also be a premier of your music video to present to friends and family – so prepare to impress.

Day 1Planning, story development and storyboarding
Day 2Film production and editing using Premiere Pro software
Day 3Graphics for film (including title design/text bubbles)
Day 4Photography
Day 5Adobe Photoshop software

Learning outcomes

This course is specifically designed for teenagers and we have adapted the course so it is suitable for 8-12 year olds,  who have an interest in music videos and want to learn the processes and techniques involved in creating their own music video.

You will leave the course with an idea of how to produce a music video. You will have a further understanding of the creative processes, and an idea of the production techniques used by professionals. You will also have a digital copy of your video to show to your family and friends. Finally, we hope to leave you with a development of your own personal creativity.

If the course has met minimum numbers, bookings will stay open to the course start date or until it has met maximum numbers.

We encourage you to book early before the deadline to avoid disappointment.
