About the course

This module is focused on introducing and developing skills required to be a successful student in Higher Education through reflecting upon the motivation to study BSc(Hons) Business and Sports Management. 

This course intends to improve your confidence for Higher Education. While also developing your knowledge of business and sport management concepts and honing key professional skills and attributes.

The course is suitable for high performing athletes, coaches, development professionals, managers and support staff. We have students on the BSc(Hons) Business and Sport Management from an array of sports, including professional cricket, football and rugby players. Some of our students are also athletes that have represented their sport at an international level including the summer and winter Olympics.

Teaching methods

This module primarily provides an introduction to the academic, communication and IT skills that you'll require to become an effective autonomous online learner. The transition between being a sport professional to the skills that are required to be a successful student will be reflected upon.

You'll also be encouraged to reflect on and consider your future career intentions upon graduation of the course through developing a personal development action plan.
