Life at Herts
Sree chose to study at Herts because of its ‘emphasis on practical, hands-on learning and its diverse community’. He believes that Herts’ commitment to innovation and enterprise, along with its opportunities for engaging research and international partnerships, was a perfect fit for his entrepreneurial aspirations.
During his time at Herts, Sree’s academic and extracurricular experiences broadened his horizons and created long lasting memories. Sree says, ‘the tutorials were particularly memorable, as they allowed me to engage with people from various backgrounds, giving me insights into different cultures and their traditions, which I found fascinating’. He liked that the course had a comprehensive curriculum that covered various aspects of international business, from market analysis to cross-cultural communications.
Enterprising ambitions
Sree won ‘People’s Choice’ in the University’s Flare awards for 2024 with a prize package of £2,500 and ongoing enterprise support to grow his business. Flare is the University’s highly competitive annual enterprise competition giving budding Herts students and alumni the opportunity to bring their business ideas to life.
Whilst studying at Herts, Sree used the University’s career and enterprise support services which he says were invaluable. ‘They offered mentorship, workshops on business essentials, and allowed me to connect with investors and experts. This support was pivotal in refining my business idea, crafting a robust plan, and preparing for the Flare competition, laying a solid foundation for my entrepreneurial journey.’
Sree also believes his education at Herts has equipped him with a strong understanding of global market and international trade which he is eager to apply in a professional setting.
