Black History Month

The University of Hertfordshire proudly celebrates Black History Month, with this year's theme: 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride'.

Black History Month is a time for us all to pause, reflect, learn, and to broaden our understanding and challenge our knowledge and beliefs around black history and culture. It also provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the diverse community here at Herts.

What's on?

From Dr George Obolo’s event highlighting Black history and culture, to author Jon Berry’s talk uncovering the forgotten story of Oswald Grey, and an online alumni panel hosted by Messiah Odinma exploring the role and relevance of Black History Month today, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate Black history, culture, and experiences at Herts this October.
