Black History Month

The University of Hertfordshire proudly celebrates Black History Month, with this year's theme: 'Honouring Our Communities'.

Black History Month is an opportunity for us all to pause, reflect and learn, broadening our understanding of Black history and culture. This year’s theme invites us to recognise the communities that shape, support and strengthen Britain, while celebrating the diverse community here at Herts and the contributions of Black people through education, healthcare, faith, business, sport, culture, heritage, public service, volunteering and community leadership.

What's on?

There are opportunities throughout October to learn, celebrate and engage with Black history, culture and experiences at Herts. This year’s programme includes creative student activities inspired by Black artists and culture, alongside opportunities to explore Black history, share experiences and connect with others across our University community. Further events, activities and resources will be shared throughout the month.
