Music and theatre

On campus

Hertfordshire Students' Union work hard to provide a lively programme of events and entertainment. Whether you like clubbing, live music, comedy, or just a quiet night out with your mates, there's always something going on at the Forum Hertfordshire or Café Ambition to help you chill out after a hard day in the Learning Resources Centre. If you’re a budding musician or singer, you can even participate in regular open mic nights.

Out and about

The nearby towns of Hertford and Stevenage both have their own theatres that offer quality without West End prices. There are also modern plays, classics and adaptations at the Watford Palace Theatre. If you want a real West End experience, London's West End theatres are within easy reach and regularly have offers for discounted tickets.

There's a vibrant live music scene in Hertfordshire, with indie and rock at The Horn in St Albans, and live music at The Green Room in Welwyn. There's loads more within a short bus or train ride of the campus. Not forgetting some of the best music venues in the country in London such as the O2 Arena, Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace.
