Adverse weather update
The University is open and following our Covid-19 guidelines, with all essential services operational.
Government lockdown guidelines still apply and only essential staff should access campus where necessary.
Travelling to Hatfield
If snowfall has occurred in your local area, please check your local news to ensure it is safe to travel to the University. When travelling, please take extra care and to stick to main roads wherever possible.
Gritting of campus roads and footpaths
Our winter gritting and snow clearance maps identify what roads and footpaths will/have been gritted on campus. Due to low temperatures, icy patches may still occur so please take care when walking on the paths. When you arrive on campus, please stick to gritted routes for your own safety.
For more information about which roads are gritted in Hertfordshire visit hertfordshire.gov.uk.
Please note that due to COVID-19 we are concentrating our gritting and snow clearance efforts on those areas of the University that are currently in use such as the LRC’s, The Forum, Hutton Hub etc. This means that some main paths may not be gritted so please take extra care when on campus.
