Adverse weather update

The University is open as normal

There is a light snow and ice forecast for Hatfield and its surrounding areas this week. Based on the current forecast, we expect the University to be open as usual with all teaching and services operational.

If you’ve had snowfall in your area, check your local news to see if it’s safe to travel. Where possible, take extra care when travelling, and to stick to main roads.

Information for students

Although the University will be open and classes and assessments will run as planned, there may be some localised disruption that makes your travel to Uni difficult. If you are unable to get to campus, then please speak to your tutor about what alternatives are available.

Please continue to work to submit your assignments on time, but if you are concerned, then speak to your tutor or read our guidance on exceptional circumstances.

Information for staff

Please continue to follow your existing working and teaching arrangements for now. If you have any concerns please discuss these with your line manager, and keep an eye out for further updates.

Travel advice

We recommend leaving extra time to get to campus, especially if you have any planned assessments scheduled.

For the latest information on public transport, visit Uno bus, Intalink or National Rail.

Campus safety update

Stay safe on campus and check out the roads and footpaths that will be gritted on campus as a priority. Due to low temperatures, icy patches may still occur so take care when walking on the paths. If you arrive early on campus, please stick to gritted routes for your own safety.
