Workshop 3 — Printmaking and Textiles

Workshop 3 is a shared space for printmaking and textiles, where students can explore both traditional and digital processes. With everything from screen printing tables and vinyl cutters to sewing machines and digital textile printers, it’s a flexible environment for turning creative ideas into finished work.

This workshop gives students the chance to experiment with a wide mix of techniques. You can use the vinyl cutter to produce designs for packaging or fabrics, apply them with the heat press, or try out digital textile printing to bring patterns straight onto cloth. There are also facilities for screen printing, embroidery, and small-scale dyeing, so you can work with both new and established methods.

The printmaking area is equipped with Albion and Columbian presses for relief work, etching presses, and vacuum tables for screen printing. Alongside this, the textiles area includes domestic and industrial sewing machines, embroidery machines, and specialist design software. Other tools include tufting and looping guns, bookbinding kits, guillotines, and equipment for finishing printed and textile work to a professional standard.
