Sports Therapy

Supporting injury assessment, rehabilitation and performance recovery, the Sports Therapy Laboratories give students the opportunity to apply professional treatment techniques in realistic clinical environments.

Students apply manual therapy, electrotherapy and rehabilitation techniques in environments that mirror professional sports injury settings. Treatment couches, ultrasound machines and interferential therapy units support learning in injury management and recovery, helping students understand how different approaches are used in practice.

Working under supervision in the Sports Therapy Clinic Laboratory, students assess, treat and plan recovery programmes for real clients, including University staff. This combination of teaching and clinical experience helps bridge the gap between theory and practice, providing valuable experience of the responsibilities involved in sports therapy.
