Optometry Laboratories
Our Optometry Laboratories replicate professional eye care environments, giving students practical experience in sight testing, eye health assessment and dispensing throughout their studies.
Students begin their training in clinics that mirror the settings they will encounter in practice, learning sight test procedures and developing confidence with specialist equipment. As their skills progress, they work in larger clinical environments equipped with advanced diagnostic technology used in modern optometry, gaining experience in eye examinations, data collection and patient assessment.
Complementing the clinical facilities, the dispensing laboratory focuses on lens manufacture, frame fitting and materials science. By developing both clinical and dispensing skills, students gain an understanding of the complete patient journey, from consultation and assessment through to the delivery of optical products.
