Midwifery Simulation Wards
Our Midwifery Simulation Wards offer realistic conditions, equipment and procedures that students use to practise labour, birth and postnatal care before taking on clinical placements.
Students carry out venous cannulation, blood collection, newborn assessment and emergency response procedures in supervised maternity care sessions.
The rooms can be configured as labour, postnatal or general ward environments, with birthing pools, manikins, foetal monitors and neonatal resuscitation equipment available to support practical learning.
Integrated Smots™ technology allows simulation sessions to be recorded and reviewed, supporting tutor feedback and strengthening students' clinical judgement. Two-way mirrors provide real time guidance without interrupting the scenarios.
