Law Court

Step inside a full-size, £10 million replica Crown Court where law students develop advocacy, presentation and courtroom skills in an environment that mirrors modern legal practice.

Complete with a judge's bench, jury box and public gallery, the space supports realistic legal proceedings throughout undergraduate and postgraduate study. Four fixed cameras record and replay proceedings, allowing students to review performance, refine legal arguments and improve presentation techniques.

Teaching in the Law Court spans everything from first-year Tort Advocacy assessments on the LLB to advanced advocacy work on the LLM Bar and LLM SP programmes. By practising in this professional environment, students develop the confidence, composure and technical skill needed to succeed when they move into real-world legal practice.

Its authenticity has also made it a popular location for television and film productions seeking a realistic courtroom setting.
