GRAIL Physiology Laboratory
Practical learning takes centre stage within the GRAIL Physiology Laboratory. Here, students gain experience using VO₂ max testing systems, spirometry, ECG and EMG equipment, and blood analysis tools to investigate the body’s response to exercise.
The facility includes treadmills, cycle and rowing ergometers, Wattbikes, and an isokinetic dynamometer for assessing muscle strength and balance. This advanced setup allows exploration of concentric, eccentric, and isometric muscle contractions, key to injury rehabilitation and performance testing.
Learning in this space reflects professional sport science environments, helping students develop the skills expected in athletic performance and health research. The laboratory’s integration of technology, analysis, and applied experimentation ensures students graduate with confidence in their practical and analytical abilities.
