Geography Laboratory
Connecting fieldwork with laboratory analysis, the Geography Laboratory gives students hands-on experience of the techniques used in environmental science, geography and ecology.
Based at Bayfordbury, the facility supports teaching, research and environmental studies. Students take part in workshops exploring soils, water and plant science, while learning how field observations and laboratory analysis work together to build a deeper understanding of the natural world.
Environmental DNA (eDNA) studies and crop research linked to Bayfordbury's glasshouse facilities allow students to follow investigations from sample collection through to interpretation of results. Small-group teaching and specialist activities provide practical experience in sampling, data handling and techniques central to modern environmental research.
