CDIO Spaces
Students take ideas from concept to operation, building, testing, refining, and running their own engineering solutions in an active studio environment. Group projects build skills in problem solving, creativity, teamwork, and communication under real constraints.
The modular spaces house industry grade equipment, including 27 Flashforge Adventurer 4 Pro 3D printers, Denford VMC 1300 Pro CNC machines, Warco mills, laser engravers, pillar drills, lathes, hand tools, and mobile soldering stations. Academic staff and specialist technicians work alongside students, embedding the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout modules through supervised access.
This immersive, practical experience prepares students to step into engineering roles ready to contribute from day one.
