Our Bloods Laboratory gives exercise and physiology students hands on access to blood and urine analysis, supporting study through direct measurement of performance, recovery, and health markers.
Here, you’ll find bench based analysers, centrifuges, sampling equipment, and data workstations for handling blood and urine samples in a controlled setting.
Students collect and analyse samples around exercise sessions, building blood lactate profiles, measuring glucose, and testing markers such as haemoglobin, haematocrit, and cholesterol to explore physiological responses to effort and recovery.
Working with live datasets mirrors applied practice in sport and clinical environments, grounding measurement, interpretation, and reporting in real-world conditions.
