Art Collection and Sculpture Walk
Our art collection is accredited by Arts Council England and features over 500 works across the College Lane and de Havilland campuses, and the Fielder Centre. It includes painting, photography, ceramics, textiles, mixed media and an outdoor sculpture walk.
You’ll find twenty key works in the Chapman Gallery on College Lane campus, including Reg Butler’s The Oracle (1952) and pieces by Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Andy Goldsworthy and Alan Davie.
Step outdoors on College Lane to explore the Sculpture Walk – 13 pieces that reflect the evolution of British sculpture since the 1950s. Explore interactive displays, abstract stone works, and a life-size bronze statue of aviation pioneer Sir Geoffrey de Havilland in celebration of local heritage.
Self-guided maps are available from Main Reception and the Art + Design Gallery on College Lane. Groups can arrange guided tours by emailing the UHArts team.
