Congratulations on your offer to study with us! You must be pretty excited right now, and maybe a little relieved too. But just before you start your celebrations, there are a few things to get organised. Let’s spend a bit of time on these, then you can get back to celebrating.
Let’s make it official
First things first, you need to accept your offer from us on UCAS. UCAS Track will open at 3pm on Results day.
If you’ve already registered with UCAS this year, just log in to your UCAS Track, click on ‘add Clearing choice’ and select H36 for the University of Hertfordshire along with the UCAS code for your course – this will be in your offer email.
If you’ve not already registered with UCAS this year, you will need to do so first. You can complete an application as normal on www.ucas.com. This will need to include a personal statement and a reference, and there is a small fee to pay.
What happens next?
UCAS will then send us your full application, with copies of your qualifications. We just need to verify these against our entry requirements before sending you your formal offer and your student ID number.
What if my offer runs out?
Your Clearing offer is valid for 48 hours (or 24 if you’ve applied for Optometry). You need to accept your offer on UCAS within this time as spaces on the course may be limited and once full, the course will be closed. We may be able to extend your offer if the course still has spaces available.
How long is my offer valid for?
Your Clearing offer is valid for 48 hours (or 24 if you’ve applied for Optometry). You must refer yourself via UCAS within this timeframe. Once verified, we will then submit the formal unconditional offer and ask that you accept your offer on UCAS as soon as possible, as spaces on the course may be limited. Please note, once full the course will be closed and we will no longer be able to confirm your place.
Will you be able reinstate my offer if I refer myself after the specified timeframe?
We may still be able to submit the official unconditional offer if you have referred yourself via UCAS after the specified timeframe. However, this will depend on whether the course still has spaces available. Therefore, please still submit your UCAS application. If spaces are still available, we will make the official unconditional offer and you will be required to accept the offer as soon as possible, as once full the course will be closed and we will no longer be able to confirm your place.
I’m holding an offer elsewhere, what do I do?
Your UCAS Track will show if you’re in Clearing or if you’re holding an offer. If you are holding an offer elsewhere, you can ‘self-release’ which will make you eligible to then select your Clearing choice.
Looking to live on campus? We guarantee accommodation for our first year students subject to application dates. You can apply for accommodation as soon as you have received your student ID number from us.
We’re working on getting everything ready for the start of term. Things will be a little different this year but we will ensure that your start of term experience prepares you for the year ahead and provides a safe and supportive learning environment from the start.
On our Start of Term webpages you’ll find all the information you need, and you’ll get an idea of what to expect on campus. You can see how we're preparing for your arrival and we’ll let you know about all the services and support that will be available once you are on campus.
We’re so excited that you’re joining us! Take a look at our social channels to keep in touch over the summer. You can also join our Facebook groups to meet other Freshers and if you’ll be living on campus, your new flatmates.
We’ll be staying in touch over the summer with information on starting your course so keep checking your emails!
Celebrate and enjoy the rest of your summer!
That's it for now, you can go off and celebrate being a University of Hertfordshire student. We’ll see you soon!
Joining one of our partner colleges?
Our Foundation and Extended Degrees are taught at our partner colleges around Hertfordshire. If you wish to study at an alternative college to where you have been given an offer for you can request to change campus by emailing email@example.com. Providing places are still available at the college you would like to move to, we can action this change for you.
