University of Hertfordshire’s rise continues with eight-place jump in latest national league table
Fresh from securing its highest-ever ranking of 37th in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2027, the University of Hertfordshire has continued rising in the national league tables.
The momentum has been reflected in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027, published today (Friday, 18 September), where Herts has climbed eight places to 59th in the UK.
The guide also recognised the University for delivering an outstanding student experience, ranking Herts 13th out of 130 institutions nationwide. Strong performances were also recorded across several subject areas, with social work ranked seventh in the UK and dietetics placed in the national top 10.
The latest result means Herts has recorded significant upward movement in two major national league tables within the space of a week, underlining its growing reputation for academic excellence, student success and graduate outcomes.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide ranks 130 UK universities across a range of measures, including teaching quality, student experience, research quality and graduate prospects, providing one of the most comprehensive assessments of higher education performance in the UK.
