The UK SoTL Alliance is a collaborative partnership committed to advancing teaching and learning excellence across UK higher education. It works to reduce duplicated effort and isolated practice by bringing together institutions, staff, and students to share resources, showcase best practice, and collaborate on research-informed educational enhancement.
The Alliance fosters innovation, and creates networks for cross-institutional collaboration, provides workshops, writing retreats, and networking opportunities to provide staff with the confidence and knowledge to conduct, share and publish pedagogic research, ensuring that institutions across the sector can benefit from evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning.
Professor Abrahamson said:
“Being elected to this position at the International Society is a significant professional honour. It represents recognition from an international community of scholars and educators and provides an opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning across Europe and beyond. I am particularly keen to support opportunities that enable educators to connect, collaborate and share practices that enhance the student experience.”
Commenting on being elected to the Steering Committee of the UK Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Alliance, Professor Abrahamson added:
“I will work with colleagues across the UK to support academics in developing their SoTL careers and strengthen collaborative approaches that directly enhance student outcomes.”
