The University of Hertfordshire is proudly back on the sleeve of Watford FC's brand-new home kit for the 2026/27 season – a striking retro design inspired by one of the most iconic eras in the club's history.

Revealed ahead of the new Championship season, the "History Reloaded" shirt takes its inspiration from Watford's famous mid-1980s kits, featuring the club's traditional yellow colours with bold red and black chest bands.

Eagle-eyed Hornets supporters will spot the University of Hertfordshire logo on the left sleeve, as the University continues its long-standing role as Watford FC's official higher education partner.

Stephi Brett-Lee, Chief Marketing Officer at the University of Hertfordshire, said:

"It's fantastic to see Herts back on the sleeve of Watford FC's new kit. Our partnership is built on shared values – championing opportunity, supporting our communities and inspiring the next generation across Hertfordshire and beyond. As the new season approaches, we're delighted to continue our relationship with one of the county's most recognisable sporting institutions and look forward to another year together."

The new shirt combines nostalgia with a fresh look for 2026/27. Produced by technical partner Kelme, it pays tribute to the Watford sides of 1985-88 while introducing new front-of-shirt sponsor BOXT.

Stephi added:

"Whether cheering from the stands at Vicarage Road, following from afar or studying at Herts, supporters will be able to wear a shirt that celebrates both the club's rich heritage and its future ambitions. We wish everyone connected with Watford FC every success and can't wait to see the new kit on display throughout the season. Come on you Horns!"
