Herts Deputy Vice-Chancellor awarded British Academy of Management Fellowship
The University of Hertfordshire’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Vorley has been awarded a Fellowship of the British Academy of Management in recognition of his influential research and his commitment to strengthening the relationship between research, policy and practice.
The British Academy of Management (BAM) aims to promote the highest calibre of UK research in management and business on a global stage, while promoting research-led teaching and supporting the highest standards in management education.
The BAM Fellowship recognises Professor Vorley’s influential research on the digital transformation of professional services, and his work demonstrating how engaged research can shape commercial decision-making and support innovation.
The award is also an acknowledgement of his work with the Innovation & Research Caucus, a network of experts who provide research, evidence and insights that help improve how UK Research and Innovation funds and supports research and innovation.
Described as “instrumental in connecting academics with policymakers and funders”, Professor Vorley was also recognised for his commitment to supporting early-career researchers to develop their careers at the research-policy interface.
Professor Vorley described the award “a real honour”.
“I am immensely grateful to the brilliant co-authors, mentors, and partners I’ve worked with across a diverse portfolio of research and impact projects over the years," he said. "I look forward to actively contributing to the BAM community in this new capacity.”
Professor Vorley was awarded the Fellowship during BAM’s 40th Anniversary Conference in London on Wednesday 9th September, 2026.
