Grenfell: Uncovered - Olaide’s directorial debut - traces the background and events leading up to the tragic event in June 2017 which claimed the lives of 72 people.

The film combines first-hand accounts from those affected by the disaster with evidence of official negligence, going beyond the headlines to examine the systemic failures that led to the tragedy.

Olaide, who graduated from Herts in 2015 with a degree in English literature with journalism and French, has been nominated in the Director: Factual and Emerging Talent: Factual categories at the 2026 BAFTA TV Craft awards, which celebrates behind-the-scenes excellence in television production. The film also picked up a nomination for the Best Editing: Factual category.

Grenfell: Uncovered has also been shortlisted for Single Documentary at the 2026 BAFTA TV Programme Awards, alongside Louis Theroux: The Settlers (BBC Two), One Day In Southport (Channel 4) and Unforgotten: The Bradford City Fire (BBC Two).

“Being recognised with BAFTA nominations has been an honour,” says Olaide. “I've been in the TV industry for nearly a decade and it's not something I ever envisioned would happen - but I'm so glad it has.

“More than that, it’s an opportunity to bring more attention to the Grenfell story, one that should never be forgotten.

Grenfell: Uncovered is an important body of work because it goes beyond the headlines and poses difficult questions about accountability; and the systemic failures that led to such a devastating loss of life.”

Produced by Rogan Productions, the documentary filmmakers behind known for their focus on hard-hitting social issues, Grenfell: Uncovered premiered at Sheffield DocFest last year, where it won the Audience Award, before launching globally on Netflix. Olaide was also named a BAFTA Breakthrough artist in recognition of her work on the film.

The accolades have since continued to roll in, with Grenfell: Uncovered winning Best Documentary Programme at the Broadcast Awards and Best Single Documentary at the RTS Programme Awards. Olaide was also awarded Debut Director at the TV Foundation New Voice Awards, which supports breakthrough creative talent across the UK television industry.

Olaide says the documentary aims to hold those involved to account.

She adds: “For me personally, this film has always been about responsibility, listening carefully to people’s experiences and doing everything I can to honour them with honesty and care.

“I wanted to ensure that the voices of Grenfell's bereaved, survivors and immediate community remained at the centre, as the calls for justice are an ongoing reality for many.

“The response to the film so far has been deeply moving and humbling, not what I ever could imagine for a directorial debut.

“More importantly, if the documentary contributes in any way to keeping important conversations alive, then it’s doing what it set out to do.”

Prior to working on Grenfell: Uncovered, Olaide built a strong reputation as a producer, working across a range of high-profile television productions including Ambulance, 999: What’s Your Emergency?, 24 Hours in A&E , The Final: Attack on Wembley, Boybands Forever, Forensics: The Real CSI, Rio Ferdinand’s Tipping Point for Amazon Prime Video,  Will.i.am: The Blackprint, and episodes of the Louis Theroux Interviews… series.

Her other accolades also include Broadcast Hot Shot 2024, Edinburgh TV Festival Ones to Watch 2022 and TV Collective Breakthrough Leaders 2023.

The 2026 BAFTA Television Craft Awards will take place at The Brewery in London on 26 April, followed by the 2026 BAFTA TV Programme Awards at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on 10 May.
