In a dazzling celebration of excellence in education and leadership, the University of Hertfordshire’s Business School was officially named the CMI Higher Education Partner of the Year 2024 at the prestigious CMI Awards of Excellence this week.

Awarded during a swanky ceremony attended by leaders in education and industry, the award recognised the University’s outstanding partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) - the UK’s leading authority on management and leadership.

The judges praised the Hertfordshire Business School for:

  • Seamlessly aligning its curriculum with CMI’s professional standards.
  • Delivering exceptional student experiences and employability outcomes.
  • Demonstrating innovation in leadership and management education.

Professor Damian Ward, Dean of Hertfordshire Business School, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have all the hard work we do here at the Hertfordshire Business School so highly recognised. Our partnership with CMI has been integral to how we deliver leadership and management apprenticeships, and we look forward to continuing to work closely together to continue delivering exceptional experiences and outcomes for our business students.”

Through its collaboration with CMI, Herts has enhanced its programmes with industry-recognised qualifications and provided students with mentoring, benchmarking tools, and leadership resources. It’s also strengthened ties with the private sector to support lifelong learning and workforce development.

Lorry Edwards, Head of Strategic Management at the Hertfordshire Business School who accepted the award on the University’s behalf [pictured] said:

“Accepting the HE partner of the year award on behalf of the Business School team validates the focus we have on excellence within business education. Our apprenticeship team creates and delivers programmes which ensure our apprentices are equipped to excel in dynamic, business environments – we are proud to be recognised for this.”

The CMI Higher Education Partner of the Year 2024 award cements the University of Hertfordshire’s role as a national leader in management education, preparing students to thrive in dynamic, real-world environments.

The University has recently launched its Clearing webpages, offering prospective students the chance to explore a wide range of business courses and to discover how they can turn entrepreneurial curiosity into a successful career.
