Hertfordshire Growth Hub is the central gateway to business support in the county, providing advice, information and resources to help SMEs grow, and is due to be re-commissioned from April 2026 under the umbrella of the government’s new Business Growth Service.

Exemplas has led delivery of the Growth Hub in Hertfordshire for a decade now; forming a delivery consortia with the University of Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce in 2018. As the recently published Hertfordshire Growth Hub 10 Year Report showed, during this time the Growth Hub has supported 14,000+ businesses, helped create and safeguard over 2,800 jobs and generated £64.2 million in economic value through its Get Growing and Build Back Better programmes.

Additionally, during the last 10 years Hertfordshire Growth Hub has helped businesses navigate some of the most challenging times in recent history, notably the pandemic, Brexit and the cost-of-living crisis.

Professor Wendy Wills, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Research and Enterprise at University of Hertfordshire, said:

“The University of Hertfordshire look forward to playing a continuing role in the Growth Hub consortia going forward. As a key anchor organisation in the region the University of Hertfordshire is keenly invested in ensuring that SMEs have the support they need to innovate and grow, to ensure a thriving local economy.”

David Moule, CEO of Exemplas, said:

“We are delighted with the continuing and ongoing commitment of partners to the Hertfordshire Growth Hub. We hope that the consortia can continue the good work to date when the new service is re-commissioned this winter by Hertfordshire Futures. We are committed to working with Hertfordshire Futures into future and being a key partner in supporting their economic strategy.”

Donna Schultz, CEO at Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, added:

“We look forward to continuing our consortia partnership with Exemplas and the University of Hertfordshire to support SMEs in Hertfordshire grow. We are proud of the work that has been done over the last 10 years and look forward to continuing this into the future.”
