Hertfordshire law students can volunteer to provide mentoring and training to school children taking part in Young Citizen’s Magistrates’ Mock Trial Competition.
The Mock Trial Competition is for 12-14 year-olds from non-fee paying schools. Pupils prepare specially written criminal cases and compete in local and regional heats in local courthouses around the UK, building up to the grand final in June.
Law students can use the skills they have developed in our mock trials co-curricular to provide training and support to local school children taking part in the competition.
Students will be required to complete 2 hours of training and are then expected to commit 3 to 4 hours a week during term time.
We welcome applications from all students who have taken part in our Mock Trials co-curricular module.
We will next be recruiting for volunteers in September 2019.
