Don’t stress
Don't worry if Clearing wasn't part of your original plan. It’s a great opportunity to find a university place. Last year 40,000 did it, so can you.
Do your research
Make a shortlist of universities and courses you're interested in before Clearing opens. Think about your priorities so you’re set to make decisions.
Apply as soon as you can
Clearing is first-come first-served, so apply early (online or by phone) from 5 July, or as soon as you can on 15 August if waiting for results.
Be flexible
Clearing is an opportunity to explore new possibilities. Stay open-minded and look at courses and universities you hadn't previously considered.
Look after your wellbeing
It's natural to feel anxious around results day. Take care of yourself and seek support from your family and friends when needed.

You'll receive an email from us within 48 hours of submitting your application, but it could be sooner. Make sure to add ask@herts.ac.uk to your contact list to prevent emails from being flagged by spam filters or ending up in your junk folder.
Once you receive an offer from us, we'll email you with the next steps on how to accept it. We recommend choosing Herts as your UCAS Clearing choice as soon as possible to secure your place and proceed with your accommodation application. If you do not select us as your Clearing choice before the deadline stipulated in your offer email, it may result in us being unable to confirm your place.
Once Clearing opens, courses that are in Clearing will be clearly identified on the subject and course pages on our website. You can also sign up to receive an email notification once our Clearing courses are released.
Absolutely! You can still submit an application for on-campus accommodation if you apply through Clearing. You will be guaranteed accommodation if you meet the application deadlines and subject to personal needs.
You can still apply for student finance to fund the course if you apply through Clearing. If you have already applied for student finance but your course or university changes, you will need to update your student finance account to reflect this.
