Graduation and early career

Early career support

To help our new graduates kick-start their career, free careers support is available to all University of Hertfordshire students for two years after graduation.

Over 96% of University of Hertfordshire graduates are in employment of further study within six months of graduation - which puts them highest in the east of England region.

Awards Ceremonies

Each year, our new graduates celebrate their academic achievements with friends and family at the University’s Awards Ceremonies.

Your son or daughter’s relationship with a university doesn’t end when they have completed their degree. They will become part of the university's alumni community.

Alumni community

After graduation, students will automatically join our global alumni community. It is a thriving network with over 230,000 alumni across 190 countries.

Being part of the University's alumni community will give your son or daughter access to a range of benefits, including further study at reduced costs and a range of events including reunions and professional networking events, in the UK and internationally.

Many of our alumni choose to support the University in return by:

  • speaking to current students at careers and School events.
  • providing work experience, work shadowing or placement opportunities at their place of work.
  • becoming international ambassadors or getting involved with their local county alumni chapter.
