A celebratory evening, it culminated with a very interesting and entertaining talk by senior economist, Dr Tassos Patokos on “An Economist’s view of Community”.

Home Straight 2016

For the third successive year, The Home Straight was hosted by The Hertfordshire Business School Alumni Team.

Jon Torrens joined our line-up this year as our Keynote Speaker with his presentation, ‘Using the Force: the Adventure of Supreme Confidence’. Jon used his passion for films to help provide our students, alumni and staff with key skills and advice on how to communicate successfully.

Robert Warren returned this year with his ‘50 Shades of Finance, how not to get bound up in jargon’ Workshop. Setting a context for financial planning, he explored the underlying concepts and made recommendations for the development of our student’s future portfolios.

We were also pleased to welcome back Matt Cooper, Kush Unadkat, Bianca Ferreira and Karishma Virji to join our Alumni Panel on the evening, answering audience questions, and followed by a stimulating hour of refreshments and networking.

Contact us if you would like to get involved in The Home Straight, in other events we run, or propose a new idea.

MBA 1992 alumni Peter Buckley was described in his nomination as the the man who always says "yes" to any request to support and is a current member of the HBS Alumni Committee. Yintong Betser, 2010 MSc Marketing alumna, has contributed to our community in many ways: these include guest lectures, contributing her network of contacts for the benefit of HBS agendas, such as potential collaboration with a business school in China.

Louise King, 2010 International Business, was the final recipient of our award as she actively supported our drive for EPAS accreditation by presenting to the assessment panel and being profiled for our bid and most recently joined the BA International Business Advisory Board.
